Nara, Northwest of Kyoto

Heute morgen gings mit dem Zug nach Nara, ca. 1 Stunde südlich von Kyoto. Hier steht mit 15 Metern Höhe der größte Bronzebuddha der Welt im größten Holzgebäude der Welt. Im Park des Todai-ji, so wird der Tempel genannt, laufen haufenweise Rehe herum, die man mit speziell dafür zum Verkauf stehendem Futter füttern kann. Aber wer das einmal macht, der wird die Viecher nicht mehr los ;)

This morning I took the train to Nara, ca. 1 hour in the south of Kyoto. Here stands  the highest bronze buddha from the world in the biggest wooden construction from the world. In the park of Todai-ji, so called the temple, there is much deer which you can feed with special food you can buy. But if you do this you won't get rid off the deer again. ;)

 

 

Am Nachmittag habe ich dann noch den Nordwesten der Stadt Kyoto erkundet. Dort stehen direkt am Stadtrand 3 große Tempelanlagen. Der bekannteste unter ihnen ist Kinkaku-ji, auch Goldener Pavillon genannt. Er macht seinem Namen alle Ehre. :)

In the afternoon I explored the northwest of Kyoto. There are 3 big temples at the city corner. The most famous is Kinkaku-ji, also called Golden Pavillon. It is not just called like this. :)
