Kamakura

Heute war ich einen Tag lang in Kamakura, südlich von Yokohama und habe neben der berühmten großen Buddhastatue auch den Bambuswald angeschaut, der dort noch existiert.

Die Buddhastatue sitzt im Kotoku-in Tempel und hat seit 1498 kein Dach mehr überm Kopf, welches im genannten Jahr durch einen Tsunami weg gespült wurde.

Today I have been a whole day in Kamakura, in the south of Yokohama and visited next to the big famous Buddha the bamboo forest which still exists.

The Buddha is sitting in the temple Kotoku-in and doesn't have any roof over his head until 1498 when a big Tsunami flushed it away.

Nach dem großen Buddha ging es zum Hokoku-ji, auch Take-dera (Mabus-Tempel) genannt, einem alten kleinen Tempel im Osten der Stadt, zu dem ein kleiner Bambuswald gehört.

After the big Buddha I went to Hokoku-ji, also called Take-dera (bamboo temple), an old small temple in the east of the town, to which a small bamboo grove belongs.

Danach bin ich zu einem großen Shrine gegangen, der durch die Einkaufsstraße Komachi-dori direkt mit dem Bahnhof verbunden ist, den Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Schrein. Er ist der wichtigste Schrein von Kamakura und ist knapp 1000 jahre alt. Auch hier gab es wieder irgendeine japanische Zeremonie, denn soviele Kimonoträger auf einem Fleck hab ich vorher nirgends gesehen :D

Afterwards I went to a big shrine, which is connected to the station with the shopping street Komachi-dori, the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. It is the most important shrine in Kamakura and is around 1000 years old. Here too, there has been any japanese ceremony, because I have never seen so many people wearing Kimonos :D

Und wieder ist ein wunderschöner Tag vorbei. Morgen gehts nur noch einmal zum Souvenirsshopping und morgen abend sitze ich leider schon wieder im Flugzeug zurück nach Europa.

And again a wonderful day is finished. Tomorrow I will shop some more souvenirs and tomorrow evening I am already sitting in the plane back to Europe.
